7 Techniques How to Fold Paper Napkin Fancy Way

Beautifully folded paper napkins make the party table so impressive and fun with almost no time. Paper or plastic plates so an easy, inexpensive, and convenient way to serve food at a party, and folded napkins are the perfect finishing touch to them. I am going to share a few easy ideas to fold paper napkins into interesting shapes. It is the best napkin fold I tried to decorate the party table. Some techniques are better practice a few times in advance to avoid stress.

All folds for a square disposable napkin. All examples are shown on 13′ x 13′ (33 cm x 33 cm) size paper napkins. Here are a few ideas on how to fold a square napkin fancy to decorate the table for holidays or other special occasions.

1. Flower From Paper Napkins

Folded paper napkins in the shape of the flower are an impressive way to decorate a party table and one of my favorite outdoor party ideas. We can make seasonal, Holidays flowers, combine different colors, and combine napkins with design and solid color. So many variations on how to fold a napkin into a rose! I just made photos of a few examples. The photos can say more than my words!

The flower from 2 colors of napkins resembles a pink rose and looks so cute on the plate! A great addition to a fancy picnic table. The flower compliments the plate on the photo so well, in my opinion! For a barbeque party, each person needs many napkins and it is the solution to make a simple but impressive presentation.

The rose napkin folding is great for Valentin’s Day at 14 February! The red flower makes a simple serving table so beautiful and can make with right plate design a great romantic addition to simple dinner on plastic or paper plates!

Fold in the napkin inside of glass like on the photo. The center of folded napkins is going inside the glass.

2. Fold in the same direction 5 more napkins around the glass.

3. Turn upside down the glass and release the napkins flower.

The flower looks so beautiful! It really makes WOW effect at your party!

Update With More Tips

Someone contacted me and said this technique doesn’twork for this person because aflowerdoesn’t hold shape and sent a photo. So, I am adding more tips and details.

1. When you place napkins around try to keep the left corner of each napkin in this order, as I show in the photo. In this order, napkins stay together well and hold the flower shape.

2. Not too important like the first step but helps, rub around the lip of the glass a few more times.

3. I used in the video a glass 4 inches tall and 3 1/3 inches in diameter. Other sizes of glasses work well too.

I like how come out the combination in different colors of napkins. Really cool ways to fold napkins technique!

White flowers go with almost all color plates! I placed an LED tea candle under the flower (I wish, I am a better photographer to take a photo in a room with limited light) The table was so nice looks with flowers lightened up from the inside. Great idea on how to fold napkins for a wedding party or other evening occasions!

Bright and vibrant colors so good for summer or kids party! This yellow flower made from paper napkins with nicely maching paper plate is really brightening up the table!

2. Peacock Tail From Paper Napkin

So easy folding paper napkins technique! It changes the appearance of the table so much because we add dimension. Ittakes almost no time but the result much more interesting than we just place on a plate. Thebest way to practice a few times in advance,this way you avoid stress when will prepare for the event and know how the best look for the party.

Fold the napkin in half.

2. Make trianglelike on the photo. Don’t make pleat just gently fold it for the great appearance.

3. Close as a book the triangle. Make the same fold on another side of the napkin.

3. Paper Napkin As A Pocket

This design of folding napkins I can call pockets. I like combination white with other colors. Looks so good! Very convenient, if we need to fold napkins in advance and stock on each other. If you are going to set a table outside, these napkinsnot going to fly easily.

Place the white napkin inside of colorful napkin and fold in 4.

2. Place open corners away from you. Grab 2 layers on the top (blue and white under) fold like on the foto towardsyourself and make thecuff.

3. Turn the napkin over and make 2 flaps from each side.

4. Tuck one flap into other.

One more easy way how to fold dinner napkins fancy is if we use contrasting color napkins. An easy and inexpensive way to decorate the table with disposable paper napkins idea.

4. Standing Paper Napkin Fan In a Fork

Can’t be folding paper napkins easy than the fan in a fork. The standing fan napkin fold makes great table party decoration. A simple napkin fold but very impressive. When I saw a decorated table with a paper napkin fan at my friend’s house, every guest’s expression was WOW. It looks so pretty and it the best to use just solid-colored napkins, in my opinion.

So cute, if we decorate Thanksgiving outside table (We live in Louisiana, and winter is warm here)! The fan looks like the tail of the turkey. Ideal if you can find a name holder in the shape of a turkey.

I like so much how the orange fan looks on the Halloween table! It gives dimension to the table and looks so good with the plate design.

Napkin needs to be folded in 4 as usually foldedin a package. Make the pleats and hold in the middle. Looks will be like a bow.

2. Attach the paper napkin fan to fork like on the photo. Leave the last pleat under the fork.

5. Napkin With Ruffles On The Middle Folding

I like this paper napkin folding idea because very unusual and so fancy when we serve with. I like to use for this folding technique napkin with 2 sides. Especially it looks nice when 2 contrast colors. I tried napkin with the designs but I didn’t fund designs look impressive as just 2 colors napkin, especially white with darker colors. The folding is may be confusing at first but it really easy when you have done 1 or 2 napkins. It is origami napkin folding and needs little practice. Check out the video below.

We need:

Paper napkin with 2 sides.

The best is with contrast colors.

Direction:

Fold the napkin in 2.

2. Fold on the right side triangles. The top white side up and the bottom white side down.

3. Make the pleats by matching one on the bottom to one on the top. (I show it very clear in my video)

4. Fold the napkin into four, so the ruffles outside.

5. Fold the napkin into half on the ruffles side and our fancy napkin is ready for our guests.

6. Space Saving Paper Napkin Folding

This fun fold design is the best napkin fold for limited space at the table! Also, napkins in the shape of straw decorate the table because resemble slightly a bouquet of flowers. Looks so impressive on the buffet table for summertime, I like to use colorful napkins for the best effect. How to fold a napkin to look like a straw I saw it at my friend’s house for the first time and liked it very much because it is the decor and useful purpose at the same time! We can use various prints, patterns, and colors of the napkins to dress the table. It is the perfect choice for a kid’s party or other informal occasions as well. Definitely, I can call it a cool paper napkin fold! It is not time-consuming because folding is not complicated, a great project in front of the TV.

To roll napkins I like to use a kebab skewer because napkins unroll easily and from my experience pencil not works well as a skewer.

Unfold napkin in half like on the photo. Place the skewer on the corner.

2. Roll napkin around the skewer. Remove skewer but hold napkin because it does not stay in place easily after you roll it.

3. I use a magazine to keep napkins in shape. This way easier make a design if you use different color napkins. But if you want to place it directly in the vase, just use old newspaper to make a ball. When placing rolled napkins just move to a side newspaper by the point you fill all vases with napkins.
